Person 1: I have a problem with X.
Person 2: The problem with X really is Y.
Me (thinking): Both X and Y are different categories of the same problem. X applies to Person 1 because of their past circumstances, Y applies to Person 2 because of their current environment. The root of both problems is probably capitalism, though several layers removed in such a way that it is difficult to connect. Instead of solidarity as they have a common enemy, both persons argue against each other . It's sad.
