    @blogdiva @iFixit @sewingI don't know where you live, but here in Britain we have a relatively new phenomenon called a 'Repair Cafe' where capable, talented volunteers try to fix whatever - electrical, electronic, textile, mechanical, etc... is brought to them. I do a bit of woodwork, and have recently repaired a high chair and a guitar (which gave ME a thrill to fix) which had a broken neck.

    You know how years ago it seemed everyone was playing #sudoku during bits of "off time"? And these days it seems everyone is #knitting?It got me curious and made me wonder: Is knitting more populair than sudoku?As I regularly travel by train this seemed a good setting to investigate this question.For about half a year (jun25-dec25) I collected data during train journeys (methodology & data disclosure in the thread).I now have an answer. ->#SciComm #citizenScience #dorkScience #trains

    Friends!Six weeks to the day when I first cast this on, and I’m happy to tell you that the #Startrek double #knitting scarf is complete!This has been such a fun, and very challenging, project to make, at times feeling like it was never going to end.I decided to make it fully, including the beads and I also added a fringe because every scarf needs a fringe if you ask me!This is a surprise Christmas gift for a very close friend who’s a huge fan, I can’t wait to see the look on his face when he gets it!I’m going to take a break from knitting now for this month, but there’s lots of other fun stuff lined up for next year.Some stats for nerds:611 rows.84 stitches per row. 51,324 stitches in total.450 beads.1000 metres of yarn.260 cm long, 20 cm wide.42 days in total.Around 100 hours of knitting.
