@stux - The german one is hosted by the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI) aka german privacy chief and informs about security incidents, too.. 👍

I feel all governments should provide all citizens email. It should be encrypted and it should follow the same privacy laws as physical email. Citizens should be able to go to a local office if they have issues like access. It should be for life and it should keep different views to see gov communications, communications from citizens, communications from outside. Outside communications should have to pay to send something. Users should be able to whitelist users who can send to them who then don't have to pay a fee. Banks or such. Such institutions should have to pay to be available on the whitelist but its more batched and acts to verify the business is legitimate. So like in the us I should have one for the nation run by the post office and one for my state run by the secretary of states office. They should all actually be run by the state and not contracted out to microsoft.

@stux More and more politicians are shifting their communication entirely to social media. For example, on X, where an incredible shitstorm is being created. Instead of getting information from government websites, people have to wade through social media, sign up for accounts, and give up their privacy. There should be a requirement to publish the same information on some kind of government news aggregator—just the statements from politicians, institutions, etc., without worthless comments.
