The only issue arises if you want your mechanism to have <a href="https://social.coop/tags/interoperability" rel="tag">#<span>interoperability</span></a> with other <a href="https://social.coop/tags/fediverse" rel="tag">#<span>fediverse</span></a> solutions. They should either ignore, or understand it, and not break.
