We subscribe to Readly for 10 Eur/month and have two actual paper magazine subscriptions (one of which we only ever read the digital edition of). To that's 30 Eur per month combined.
I understand the YT sum is somewhat justified for the accessibility it offers your parents. Sure it's a lot of money but maybe not for the independence it offers them.
