🏥 North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary, Stoke-On-Trent. Without a doubt, my favourite abandoned hospital! So many old operating theatres date from between the 1920s and 1970s; many still had power when I explored a few years ago. Sadly, all these areas are now demolished.

✨All that glitters, is NOT gold! Dalton Mill (Keighley, England) was transformed into a Victorian nightclub for the 2016 British horror-mystery film The Limehouse Golem. Sadly the mill has suffered several large fires since I took these photos and now lies a collapsed, charred ruin!

The Sacred Heart Church, Vernon (#Connecticut). 1971-2019

The church was erected amid controversy, centring around its futuristic design. This towering seven-storey concrete pyramid (nicknamed “Cement Tent” and “St Cement”).

By 1980, concrete began crumbling & raining down on the congregation 85ft below. Despite repairs, the structure was condemned in 1997 and lay abandoned for decades.

It was demolished in 2019.

🚂 Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad No. 643, the sole surviving H-1 class 2-10-4 "Texas" type steam locomotive engine built in 1944 by Lima Locomotive Works. Weighing around 520,000 lb, it is one of the heaviest steam locomotives ever built.

Photos from 2018, when it sat #abandoned in an impound. Now it is restored and part of the Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum in Sugarcreek, Ohio.

Culture House S stands abandoned in western Georgia, once the cultural heart of a Soviet-era tea collective. Completed in the 1950s, it served as a venue for theatre, film, and community events for the agricultural workers. The adjoining administration building housed offices for management.

👨🎤Tucked away in the English countryside lies an abandoned Rockstar Mansion! Yes, this place was once home to a famous English #rockstar.

I took these photos a few years ago, but this place has lain #abandoned since the mid-2000s when its prestigious owner put it up for sale.

The onset of decay was starting to creep across the house in some areas, with peeling moldy wallpaper and cracking paint in some rooms and corridors on the upper floor.

👾Misson 2 Mars. An abandoned greenhouse and horticultural training complex in western Germany.

The 24 dome-shaped pods are built from hexagonal and pentagonal glass panels, linked by narrow keyhole doorways. Temperature and humidity were controlled to create the perfect environment to grow almost any plant!

Manicomio di R. A former neuropsychiatric hospital somewhere in #Italy. Terminology that reflects a bleak chapter in medical history, "manicomio" meaning "madhouse".

The institution opened in the 1870s. A research lab, radiology, electrotherapy rooms, dental care, an operating theatre and a chapel are later additions.

Italy’s new national health system in the 1980s saw all these "mental asylums" close.
