The ubiquitous platitude "failure is not an option" is absurd by contradiction. Give me an example of some situation in which failure IS an option. Go ahead, I'll wait. Failure is an ever-present possibility irrespective of the consequences thereof, and either we make peace with that or nothing gets done.
"Everything happens for a reason" is absurd in its own right. Anything happening for a reason, by definition, necessitates that some other things also happen but for no particular reason. Everything happening for a reason is logically equivalent to a program that compiles to only ones without a single zero. The ones don't mean anything without the zeroes. If everything happens for a reason then nothing does.
A skeptic in the truest sense of the word begs for evidence sufficient to disprove themselves.
Sanity is, by definition, doing something and expecting a result.
If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything nice.
If you have time to lean, you have room to pace.
Professionals have standards and so do I.
