Before I bite the proverbial bullet. Is someone on the #fediverse using a #Fairphone 5 with #PostmarketOS edge on it ? Is it as good as the wiki suggests ? What are the gotchas apart from the documented ones on the wiki?

@justine hi! I daily drive a #postmarketOS FP5, for the past 3 months. The experience is wonderful and it runs great, but do be aware:
- audio doesn't work at all for me, but does for others
- no calls yet
- do not choose GNOME Mobile if you rely on battery lifeThe community on #Matrix is super helpful, and performance is quite good. Waydroid works, but doesn't pass camera, GPS, or BT, so native apps are still crucial.

@justine since my post:
- camera is no longer green (colors washed out tho, and still no zoom or focus)
- video capture works and is smooth
- I hear mic works, but I haven't been able to try it due to my entire audio being borked
- auto rotate went from existing ~50% of boots to ~80% (just checked, this boot is an unlucky one)
- I have fixed some of the #FluffyChat issues, but they are not merged yet. I run my own flatpak in the meantine
- Tuba & Pipeline no longer freeze since mesa 26 merge -

@flaki @justine I haven't touch my phone for last two month, and I just flushed edge and FP5 has Audio out from the box. It's a great success

@anthropy @everton137 I just voted... my posts got ZERO traction on Bluesky and are widely shared here... don't know what to think but I follow a lot of feminist accounts on here (and my dormant bluesky account) and they have far more engagement on here, as far as i can tell...

I can't speak for the people you're trying to poll here (so I didn't vote), but if I am to personally guess, the lack of algorithm is a double edged thing, especially for smaller accounts, but also for larger ones; you have to (re-)boost your important takes a few times for them to actually reach your audience, as it may just end up piled under "background noise". tags also help there. Bluesky's Discover feed has an algorithm
