1. It’s thrilling to see the team's hard work and thoughtfulness come to fruition with the launch of Quote Posts! (Coming soon to an instance near you in Mastodon version 4.5.) https://blog.joinmastodon.org/2025/09/introducing-quote-posts/
2. And the official launch of Mastodon’s managed hosting and service offerings. It’s an important step to help secure Mastodon’s financial future. It’s also one way Mastodon is working towards growing Mastodon and the #Fediverse beyond Mastodon.Social and Mastodon.Online. These are two major updates any great improvements.
1/ ‚Quoots’ improve the CX on user level.
2/ ‚managed hosting‘ is a great way to establish financial independence and also drive adaption. I am sure, many orgs will appreciate this service. And I cannot wait for more public services (e.g. the police) to post their updates on mastodon instead of [insert walled garden].

This is the relevant bit of code after searching their repository... Let's see what I can dig up.

@julian I'm using https://github.com/yukimochi/Activity-Relay, and the error I'm getting is "relay-server | ERRO[0275] Rejected Follow, Unfollow Request : https://activitypub.space/actor only https://www.w3.org/ns/activitystreams#Public is allowed to follow"
I think I get the same error when a Friendica instance attempts as well.

incentive@mastodon.circlewithadot.net can you share more information? What's a "non-public hard setting"?
Also, what software are you using? I have mainly tested against Aoderelay, but I should be compatible with others too :)

@julian Hmm, it seems the software I'm using has non-Public hard setting that isn't configurable on /actor, so I don't think it's compatible with your instance unless I can figure out a way to lax those settings 🤔
