I appreciate projects like the Forkiverse. I think bringing in new people in groups is exactly the way to properly populate the Fediverse - it benefits from every added community that already has shared interests, and continues to actively talk about them.

I have no idea what the forkiverse is? It sorta sounds like you could adopt communities from other platforms into the fediverse. Is that what it is?
I only have a limited understanding of the fediverse. For instance, they say that ur mastodon handle can used in a similar fashion as ur email address although I have not tried it. -

For instance, they say that ur mastodon handle can used in a similar fashion as ur email address although I have not tried it.@laurencelawlor It's a fairly new Mastodon instance/server set up by a podcast team. 😊 You are on mastodon.social, they are on theforkiverse.com - but you can still talk to each other, like you're talking to me! I'm on mstdn.games!
The Fediverse is similar to email in which you have Yahoo, Gmail, GMX.. and so on, and anyone can set up a server for themselves or a group or community and talk to each other! Like someone@yahoo.com can talk to someone@gmail.com!
