But I will say, I'm currently sitting in the train's silent coupé (googling bedazzled walkers obviously) and for the first time everyone is actually quiet. A win is a win.

@mahryekuh just wing it. If I want physical therapy I'll have to wait for a new medical insurance package next year, but -quote- "they're just going to give you a bunch of silly exercises that you won't do anyway" which yeah sounds about right.

@john_fisherman finally, that's not the entire point of the @swf . You can check our feed for information about the work we do. You can disagree about wanting to get LinkedIn or Snap connected to the Fediverse, and still support our other work.

@john_fisherman on the Fediverse, you have control over who you connect to and who you don't. Everyone should have the ability to block Hacker News or LinkedIn if they want.

@john_fisherman there are a lot of good reasons to connect existing social networks to the Fediverse.
Mostly, so people on the Fediverse can stay connected to people that matter to them -- friends, family, colleagues, neighbors. Connecting to people is what social networks are for.
Second, so people on those networks can more easily move onto platforms they control themselves. We are getting better and better tools for those moves.

Yeah, I dig @brucelawson 's podcast on the web, "For a Better Web".
In this episode, @evan wants all Tech Giants to join the Fediverse, start using ActivityPub, never mind the promotion of lies, hate, fascism.
The Social Web Foundation (@swf) seems to me as a fundamentally flawed project, because, as Audre Lorde so eloquently and famously put it:
"The master's tools will never dismantle the master's house."
