We heard you.@Bredroll
@tragivictoria You're right, but since the indexable flag is enabled by default on most instances, it was more opt-out than opt-in. That said, it doesn't stop real scrapers like Google from displaying posts for days even after deletion. We thought we were offering a clean solution with instant deletion via ActivityPub, but we quickly realized many users weren't aware of their own default settings. That's a conversation the Fediverse still needs to have. -
We heard you.@rompe
We actually received links to heated discussions about the project beyond what was visible here. It was taking a dimension we didn't anticipate. We preferred to shut it down rather than let it escalate further. -
We heard you.We heard you. #HolosDiscover has been shut down, all indexed data deleted, and the source code removed. We apologize for the misunderstanding. Our approach was built with the deepest respect for user consent, but we understand it could rightfully be seen as misusing the indexable flag that many users didn't consciously enable. This highlighted a real conversation the Fediverse needs about default settings. Thank you for the feedback.

Our first Fediverse app dates back to 2017, when Fedilab was called Mastalab. Our first Fediverse app dates back to 2017, when Fedilab was called Mastalab. Since then, we've contributed with different apps in the free software world.
With Holos, we're stepping off our beaten path, offering a new concept: having your ActivityPub server running on your phone without changing how you use it. Beyond everything belonging to you (database on your phone and keys for signing), the app doesn't let it show, it acts like any other. (1/2)

Different architecture. Activity Connect bridges actors that can't communicate directly (blocked instances, different networks). The Holos relay provides stable identity for mobile servers. Your phone runs the actual ActivityPub server, and the relay simply proxies requests to your current tunnel URL. It doesn't bridge or store content - just maintains a permanent address while your phone's IP and tunnel change.

No, the app and server run in the same process and communicate via bridge. C2S isn't needed here. The server uses S2S for federation with other instances. -

We'll work on PeerTube compatibility. Starting with standard Video ActivityPub objects, then adding PeerTube-specific features as we progress.

ActivityPub running on your phone. Your own server, your data stored locally. A relay handles your stable identity when you're offline.
One account, all formats. Short text, long articles, photos, videos. The UI adapts to your mood. Switch between text mode, photo grid, video feed, article editor based on what you feel like sharing.
Same network, same followers.
Early stages, but the foundation is solid. We wanted to share the progress.
