Firefox uses on-device downloaded-on-demand ML models for privacy-preserving translation.@firefoxwebdevs IMO the killswitch should kill all "Ai" features, but make it easy to re-enable ML-specific features. The main thing I don't want in my browser are LLMs/GenAI, but I know some are against ML too. Maybe there ought to be a checkbox next to the Ai killswitch button to include machine learning features in the killswitch, checked by default - but it can be unchecked before hitting the killswitch if the user desires.

it turns out that the real "blue sky credible exit" was the mastodon account you signed up for in 2023 and then never used because you have to copy and paste a url into a box sometimes and people ask you to have empathy for disabled people@starsider @oblomov the closest thing I'm aware of would be https://streetpass.social/, but that's more for collecting user handles as you browse the web, not collecting links from your timeline.
