@randahl this is so deeply, deeply depressing. On top of the terrible loss of human life, now this, which may well be the final straw.
I think I've moved from climate anxiety to deep climate grief. I saw a clip where a speaker said that this is the only period in history where we mourn in advance. Even when we see something beautiful, we know it's all ending.

@calcifer there's a facebook page that rips shreds (supposedly comedy) off volunteers (fire, rescue/assistance) who publicly comment that they're a firefighter or first responder or whatever, or if they're seen out (such as at a fast food place) in their uniforms. Double demerits for mentioning years of experience or awards received. I find it bizarre - why aren't people allowed to be proud of their achievements?
