@lumi@snug.moe @bri7@social.treehouse.systems yeah. completely fair, i'm glad these things at least work for you.
unfortunately it isnt that way for me and others, so we're simply left scrounging for the least-unethical option

I agree completely
only problem is its a hard stance to take specifically in Fluxer's case because i am so vehemently anti-Discord because of its business partnership and advertising for AI platforms
and fluxer's design principles- at least once federation is a thing- seem to allow users the tools to deny storage and hosting and financial power to Fluxer itself, anyway, so im just here like, thinking... if it really is a worry, i cant see why you cant just self-hosst it past that point
fluxer is pretty much the only thing designed to provide a viable solution to other Discord alternatives' UX problems, feature parity, and centralization issues -
can you all stop promoting homophobic and transphobic alternatives to Firefox@lumi@snug.moe @bri7@social.treehouse.systems granted, i'd also prefer it wasn't used THERE, but it's far more forgiveable and the tone surrounding it is way less... "AI-bro" than here.
This feels like AI slopaganda -

I don't want to hear about your micro prompt-engineering and how impressive it is and why that's the reason your use of AI is ok.
i can forgive something like Fluxer recently which used it almost completely for rubberducking and talked far more about reviewing the code and making sure it fit with the existing code so it was human-readable, because despite openly saying AI was used to help speed things up it
A) disclosed ethical concerns even THEY had with the use of it and
B) Focused far more on the practical end-result and making sure it was safe, function, and on ethics, than how the AI was used, and
C) openly said "there should be far less, if not no AI-touched code added going forward with all the recent focus on the platform and with code contributions open" -

i've heard some of the existing problems in the past, mainly with this one lgbt developer and its also very... strange adblocking mechanism
but like, i imagine slopware = ai coded stuff, and thats a new one for me
