@c0debabe @jn I would recommend ESP32 as a cheaper alternative to the RPi stuff, especially because it ends up being at the heart of so many actual real world products. you can pick up a NodeMCU-32S devboard for about $4-5 on AliExpress, super easy to use, works with Arduino and PlatformIO frameworks (so tons of libraries), has WiFi and Bluetooth for connectivity. maybe grab a cheap OLED screen, some temperature and humidity sensor breakouts, WS2812 LEDs, etc. and play around controlling them.
