@jeffjarvis The problem is that when people are ashamed of being right-wing, they don't stop being right-wing. They just adopt left-wing aesthetics without any of the principles.

  • When someone says „Scientists do not want you to know“ you can dismiss everything from there on.

@elduvelle @csolisr Influencing the results is one thing, but there is definitely a bias in funding bodies towards funding research that will show short-term economic benefit over research that will have longer-term or non-economic benefit.

@mcc I've had some issues with NTFS, mostly if my computer crashes, I need to boot into Windows and do chkdsk /f on them to repair them. Other than that it works mostly fine.

Steam on Linux does not seem to like NTFS (I've had a couple of games work on NTFS but loads more not) but if it's just for archival I guess that won't be an issue?

  • Love how "elitist" now just means "has the audacity to know things."
    catriona@tech.lgbtundefined catriona@tech.lgbt

@Daojoan The thing that burns me up is that there is a relationship between education and class, but that is not an inevitability; it is a choice made by the right-wing.

The left wants to extend the opportunity of education to everyone, and for that they're called elitist, while the people who insist on gatekeeping education as a privilege for the rich are salt of the earth. It's entirely backwards.

  • @glyph Did you quote post something?
    catriona@tech.lgbtundefined catriona@tech.lgbt

@xgranade @glyph There is the odd game (FFXVI, for one) where I get a lower framerate on Linux than I did on Windows, but those are rare, and generally my experience is the same as yours.
