    @Cenbe @dansup he learned specific APIs in iOS to do this, so actually, regardless of your judgment of the outcome, it actually is a very good use of programmers time.

    @BCMetisMan @reiver @evan ah! So they turned it off on the mastodon.social end.

    Well, just to be clear, this only affects people on mastodon.social. People on other instances can still see posts from mastodon.social and can still use their own federated and local timelines to see posts.

    @BCMetisMan ? How would they have done that? Do they somehow block other instances live pages? Our local feed at socialbc remains public.

    (Asking generally in a hand-wavy way, not expecting you to answer :))
