This is just a fun way to add some flair to your video, we only have a few filters like sunglasses and dog ears, I don't see the harm in that.

There is literally no difference if you edit a photo to add a filter or overlay text/stickers.

I really don't understand why you are calling this stupid and childish, its just a fun feature, and one that isn't required.

You might not use them, does that mean nobody should too? Even if we build an ethical implementation?

@moralapostel @anatolegc @kdekooter How is an AR filter harmful, when you don't need to even finish uploading the video to Loops, you can literally record a video then save it and share it to a specific person outside of Loops.

It's not that different from editing a photo and sharing it. That happens a lot. Where is the harm?

@sturmsucht This is the last remaining milestone for the Loops grant that expires on March 1st, so I'd say yes.

@Dequei great question, this is in fact 100% offline and uses system (Metal on iOS) APIs to handle real time preview and rendering.

@thisismissem @evan @quillmatiq more adoption, like Metas Threads? There are dozens of projects on the fediverse, more than atproto, so that’s not really coming across as you think it is lol

@quillmatiq @evan what walls? The fediverse literally worked with Meta for Threads federation, we’ve been here and open to collaboration, they went off and made a worse implementation that is even more difficult to full self host.

I appreciate the ability for interop, but I’m not wrong about this.
