In corporate advisories, you don't say "I love you." You say "We take our users privacy seriously," which means "we were storing your social security number in plaintext." I think that's beautiful.

@da_667 The payload that triggered all this was a POST request. Best guess right now is that it was intended for a machine that had already been exploited and with a malware dropper hiding on the device to wait for the POST request with the hidden payload.

Fun fact that I didn't note in the post: I found the same payload on one of those Chinese websites where they share their firewall logs....and then I checked it again the next day and the file was corrupted lol

thank god. My uncle Don is a public school teacher, and has been lamenting about charter school funding for years. He serves kids in rural, low income public school districts and had to watch as the richer kids paid more to get a worse education an hour away by going to a charter school.
