@grote This is utter madness. I don't know how we can push back as users, but we must.

I was not planning on crashing out over AI today, I was planning on reading screenplays.@xgranade I've never met a dedicated Linux user who's "normal" about software.

I made a thing for keyboarders using https://marshdeer.github.io/xkcd2501-generator/People do know their preferred actuation strength and travel distance - they just don't consciously consider it. There are just some keyboards they like and ones they don't.

Todd C. Miller has been maintaining the #sudo codebase for over 30 years.@rastilin @pafurijaz I don't see a likelihood of users or corporations being willing to pay for open source. If payment changes hands, that's a contract. And I'm sure that everyone wants a contract that protects them from anything that might go wrong.

Todd C. Miller has been maintaining the #sudo codebase for over 30 years.@pafurijaz Half the point of #FOSS (or more than half, for a lot of people) is the "free as in beer" element. If they were willing to pay for things, they'd be in the Windows or Mac walled gardens. That's just the reality of the situation. Create a tool for everyone, and everyone will use it until they need to pay up.
