Hamburger means "of Hamburg", so it's very confusing when people call it that even if the poor bovine they made it from never set its hoofs there. And it makes no sense to switch the "ham" part for the relevant animal name. A chicken raised in Hamburg is as much a Hamburger as a cow raised there. You don't alter its citizenship with a slice of cheese either.
