I love this thread and I love this meme.

I'd share this meme with them, and also share that error messages are like Captain Obvious: they might be accurate about showing when a problem exists, but often less helpful when fixing it.

I'd also highlight that bugs are a normal part of programming (and that code can "work"but still be shite).

From a classroom place, would "silent coding" followed by QA work as a structure?

Or is that what's in place when they call out?

One of the things that's fun with this tooling - we can map a timeline of pages visited against cookies set on the page.

Want to see when the 498 cookies were set on CNN's home page? Check it out here:

I've been testing hardware and software for years now, and I've been using a range of tooling to do it.

I figured I would let past me save future me some time, so I put together some tooling that unifies and documents some of the more detailed pieces.

None of it's hard -- but the setup requires some precision.

And because setup is both the thing we do the least and the thing that can make results go sour, documenting process is critical.

Hello, privacy loving fediverse hive mind!

I am looking for some of the most adtech-driven "mainstream" sites on the internet.

You know -- sites that a normal person, a tech civilian, might visit, that ostensibly perform some useful function but are crawling with adtech and trackers.

Some of my "favorites" - weather.com, cnn.com, HuffingtonPost, WebMD.

Hit me up with some of the best!

(and by best I mean absolute worst!)

    Thank you! (I think lol)
