@jhx I used apt-cacher-ng while testing a ZFS on root script I was working on. I was doing multiple Debian installs to cover various combinations so caching the packages reduced he need to hammer the Debian mirrors. I continued using it until I found it didn't fetch all packages, so keep an eye out for that. Maybe that's been fixed.

Interesting. Does guix require EFI?I have a couple old (but still trustworthy if a bit power hungry) server boards. They can't use ZFSBootMenu because they don't support EFI boot and hence, require the bpool/rpool split.
I'd also be curious if this could be deployed on a Raspberry Pi which has so far resisted my attempts to run Debian from ZFS on root.
I have no great desire to use Nix but remain curious.
