I once read an interview with an Effective Altruist who said that a potential Skynet was the biggest threat facing humanity, during the hottest year in recorded history while the NAC fluctuated alarmingly, and that was the moment I knew Effective Altruists were idiots.

It's less like the writing is on the wall, and more like the writing is in all-caps neon.There's no dancing like the dancing "experts" do when the transparently stupid theory they came up with to avoid actually thinking about their own bad choices needs to be discarded because the disaster they invited has finally arrived and wants to set up house in their guest room.
