I'd say it breaks down about like this for me:

Pre-1955: 1%
1955-1964: 4%
1965-1974: 10%
1975-1984: 20%
1985-1994: 25%
1995-2004: 20%
2005-2025: 15%

I'm largely out of touch with today's music, but there's a few (I think?) popular bands that I follow (e.g., Khruangbin), some fringe new stuff (e.g., The Olympians, Automatic, Mdou Moctar) and there are still plenty of artists I like still making new music (The Cure, Aimee Mann, Robyn Hitchcock, Colin Hay, etc.).

There is plenty going *wrong* in the world right now. And I feel like I hear about all of it, all the time.

If I may ask; if you're involved in Linux or FOSS communities, what do you see going *right* lately? What things are giving you optimism? Are there any new developments worth following that would encourage people?

More than a few people have been snarky in my presence about LWN's, shall we say, vintage style.

However; I don't really see the value in change for change's sake *and* our design is user-friendly and works well for a wide range of browsers (not just Chrome).

I'm moved to mention this after trying, and failing, to read an article on a site that sure is modern... and unreadable.

Just... give me text and the occasional image when necessary, please? Sigh.
