@cstross To be fair, that one was kidnapped and is suffering from PTSD, not dissociative identity disorder, while it tries to cope with its parents and its kidnappers playing nice.

I REALLY HATE that this is clearly true.https://mastodon.social/@anon_opin/115626482432699615@cstross I do not believe I will ever understand this thing that the UK excels at where they'll look at a political party that wavers between 70% and 90% doing the right thing with a historical track record that includes *creating the NHS* and go "weeeeeeelllllll yeah, but it's not 100% is it?" ... and then vote for the Tories. Who have killed more english people than the wehrmacht and done more damage to the UK in a week than the IRA could do in 30 years.
I mean, it's like S&M but unhealthy.
