@jtwcornell91 @dneary @robincafolla Not that I am aware of. Derek Chauvin (Floyd's murderer) lived in Oakdale, which is not only not neither in Minneapolis but two counties removed from his jurisdiction.

Someone from my high school became a police officer himself (not a friend), and his wife confided their living outside of Coon Rapids, which is — falling into the same category I mentioned — is also yet another county removed.

This kind of thing is a trope among locals …

@dneary @robincafolla I wouldn't trust Minneapolis' police force (MPD) with this task for a second. They frightened the fuck out of me (a white man) decades before they murdered Floyd, and they became worse. Depressingly, I think only a tiny fraction of MPD even lives in the city but rather openly reactionary exurbs (of choice).

Maybe I'd give way to the Minnesota State B.C.A., but this is probably not in their blood (legacy of milquetoast politics).
