Jerrabomberra Wetlands #landcare day.Jerrabomberra Wetlands #landcare day. Because November is turtle breeding month, we just did turtles today. Turtles lay eggs and then they hatch when it rains, but foxes are a problem so we cover nests with chicken wire, then when it rains we try to get to as many nests as possible, dig them up and release the babies directly to water, before foxie gets to them. Today we found one nest already hatched, babies gone, and another nest with 8 live babies:
