Ok! Based on this shakedown mosey I believe that moving forward there will be less tearing out of areas of the van that don't work and more finishing work on a solid core. π
The layout works. I'm satisfied with features chosen and excluded.
The interior still looks like someone built it from scraps (because I did) and a lot of stuff looks temporarily tacked into place (because it is) but despite appearances this is a milestone.

On one of my first mornings living on the panhandle of Golden Gate Park I opened my blinds to see the Bay to Breakers folks walking, rollerskating, cycling, and even running in all stages of dress and undress, often in elaborate costumes and paints. I knew I'd found a home.Shrug off the yoke of body hatred!

The one-two punch of Win11 forced upgrades and Apple ditching their entire line before Apple silicone might make a big wave of perfectly capable machines hit the used market.

A new version of LineageOS, a de-Googled version of Android, is out.A new version of LineageOS, a de-Googled version of Android, is out. Apparently, they're working toward support for mainline Linux kernels and away from Google's patched kernels. In theory, that would allow LineageOS to boot on a whole raft of devices (even non-phones) instead of just the Qualcomm SoCs currently supported.
Also, they're improving Qemu hosting so running in a VM on your lappie is possible.

I hope that makers of non-Android Linux phones step up their game to take advantage of GOOG's ever-tightening grip on Android which was originally pitched as an open-ish platform but is less so every yearAndroid: more closed every day

I'm deeply grumpy about Mozilla yet still agree with this headline.I'm deeply grumpy about Mozilla yet still agree with this headline. On desktop it's a different calculus but on Android I keep coming back to Firefox. Any user agent without original flavor UBlock is, to me, unusable.

I was doubtful at first that it would be fun and capable compared to what basic scripting with Circuit/MicroPython offers but as the team add more device categories and smooth the process I have to say that no-code IoT is increasingly great for more situations.

For example:
A few months ago I bought a Framework 16. That's my bad.

Re Bluesky and ATProto (because I know you wanted my opinion :-):How we start is how we finish.Protocols and code to link together a handful of big scalable nodes hosted on rich people's infrastructure are fundamentally different than protocols and code necessary to grow a global mesh of many thousands of locally hosted community nodes.
