Giornata dell'amnesia

When I was living with my parents, some 40+ years ago, the kitchen sink *always* triggered my OCD.
I have no idea whether the sink had been replaced at some point with one a slightly different size, or it has been built this way. But really, can we just align the tap with the sink please?
