@siderea The share of old-enough Android versions not to have the ISRG root in their root store (7.1 and earlier) is something like 2%, apparently. That was the major segment people were concerned about at the time the IdenTrust cross-sign expired (when it was more like 5%); I'm not sure if there were (or are) other platforms of any significance no longer receiving root store updates. (Ancient versions of iOS or people still running Windows XP, maybe?)

Are there still browsers out there that throw an error on Let's Encrypt SSL certs? -
*Hacking, wizened voice* Beware ye, afore ye ride the@mcc In true hospital fashion, I observe they have redoomed the elevators by slapping a vinyl printout on top of the existing sign, which can still clearly be read to say "South Elevators".
(Insert uplifting life lesson about optimism in the face of adversity here.)
Also I note the previous sign offered directions to the main lobby, which the new one does not, also in the true hospital fashion of monotonically increasing difficulty of navigation.

i feel like a wisp@eevee @codinghorror I cite your Unicode post all the goddamn time. It was pretty foundational to my current understanding of Unicode (or maybe "understanding of my lack of understanding of Unicode"). I like a lot of your writing, though, not just the stuff that's popular or quotable or perennially relevant.
