best not find yourself saying "people have different definitions of opt-in"@aud "I have altered the definition of 'opt-in'. Pray I do not alter it any further."

Sounds about right 🫠@campuscodi one of the pictures showed the confabulation process quite well. It was of a lake with bright blue water and some steam plumes behind. There *is* a water feature of that colour in the area (a mine runoff pit named little blue lake), and presumably the LLM made the geographic association and then just went the full bullshit.

Sounds about right 🫠@jwi for extra plausible deniability, it's a stochastic parrot operated by a third party.

Sounds about right 🫠@campuscodi I live not too far from the location of those purported hot springs, and the quotes I read from the article I saw about it had the family howling with laughter. Just *so* badly confabulated content and pictures. It was a great teaching moment for the kids about the perils of the bullshit machine.

“zzt how dare you accuse Mozilla employees of suffering from very obvious LLM psychosis”@seekingfreedom we're all just cost centres to the capitalist class. You get treated as valuable for only as long as they haven't figured out a way to get by without you.

Backlog it is then... 🫡@campuscodi "swamp", "garbage dump", or "pit of despair" all seem reasonable alternatives.

The enshittification of computer repair is happening.@properlypurple I've been pondering what the possible ramifications (no pun intended, but enjoyed) of these big price hikes might be on commodity cloud pricing if the LLM bubble doesn't pop soonish. I'm sure the big providers have solid supply contracts, but those need to be renegotiated sooner or later...

The Virtue of Finished Things@TimWardCam just one more reason to minimise the number of dependencies...
