@evan this is now established. E2EE task force members are encouraged to mention @e2ee directly in order to start topics from other software like Mastodon, etc. There is no need to create your own account. You can simply browse the records by going directly to https://activitypub.space/category/30/e2ee-task-force β€” clicking on voting or reply buttons will allow you to hop back to your server to like/reply, assuming your instance supports Activity Intents (which reasonably recent Mastodon servers should)

@evan I am generally against the use of LLM tooling in software development when it comes to wholesale feature and application development. However that's a personal opinion and not one that I wish to extend broadly to the site and topics discussed therein. These discussions are welcome on the site πŸ™‚ I say this with the unusual caveat that the AI space is evolving so rapidly that this guidance could change in the future!

@ozoned hah okay! Let me get that fixed up. I don't think I'm able to preserve the old topics however.

Can you guess when I turned Anubis back on? Grey line (left-hand; y-axis) tracks page views Blue line (right-hand; y-axis) tracks unique users [image: 1769183491489-6fef34a9-80f9-4b9f-b266-212a31f486cb-image.png] You can even see the spike in traffic that brought down the site hard enough that I got my butt in gear to tune Anubis and turn it back on. Based on the numbers here, there is a thirteen-fold decrease in activity (or a ~92% drop in traffic), all identified by Anubis as bots and blocked. Selective adjustments were made to the nginx config and anubis bot policy to allow certain bits of traffic through (for unimpeded federation, etc.), but otherwise the site is now quite stable, on a small potato server. :potato: Default bot policy does let search engine crawlers though (I think), so that is win-win. Thank you so much @cadey@pony.social, my next stop is your GitHub Sponsors page.

Thank you so much for the kind words 😎 it's been a busy year and a half but integrating ActivityPub has definitely been a step in the right direction. There are still some hairy bits here and there but "it just works" is definitely the goal I'm shooting for.

thisismissem@hachyderm.io hmm that's fair. I don't think it precludes interested parties from having these discussions though. I'm not sure what the right solution is.

thisismissem okay, it sounds like there are two separate issues. I'll give my Yubikey a try again and see if I have issues getting a TOTP challenge.
