Dialect is a free and open source Android launcher where your home screen is a T9 phone dialpad, type digits like an old feature phone to filter and launch your apps.This release adds contact dialing. @jscholes @DavidGoldfield @destranis I agree, and something I especially hate is equations in PDFs. They are completely unreadable with screen readers no matter what software you use. Tables are frustrating but I can often figure them out even if they are not tagged, and no headings can be very annoying, but equations in PDFs are literally just gibberish, and before AI there was nothing at all I could do to read them.

We now show alt text in the fediverse! Now alt text from photos in your blog posts gets sent out over ActivityPub, so your images are more accessible to your readers and followers there. Alt text (meaning alternative text) lets you add a description of any images you include in your posts. This is especially helpful to readers who are blind or have low vision, and use screen readers to consume your posts — instead of an empty space where your image is, the screen reader can read aloud the description you provide, giving them the full context of everything you’re sharing. In our Plain Text editor, you can use standard Markdown to add alt text in the brackets before your image URL:  In our Rich Text editor, you can use the top menu option: Insert → Image to find a Description (alt text) field, where you can describe the image: Alt text on Write.as has been here since day one. When you die, how will your family access your online accounts? What will you do when the power is off and the WiFi goes down? Having an offline data storage system is vital. That being said, it's wonderful to be able to share photos by just sending a link to family members. The Cloud does have its advantages. Free Cloud accounts and free photo storage apps won't hold all of your photos by the time you get far along in the process. You will probably need to pay for extra Cloud space, if you use Cloud storage.BE AWARE that ALL Cloud storage accounts are scraped by #AI companies to train their chatbots. @oblomov Years ago there was a debate on this, when Twitter was still progressive-friendly. It was convenient to use due to that 140 characters limit, like "localization" that's "l10n" and "internationalization" that's "i18n". The number of letters between the initial and final.Then the coincidence made it confusing as "a11y" has the two "1" numbers getting similar to a double "l" for sighted. Someone said that acronym had to die. But it's still used today.
