Once upon a time, I was very active on MySpace and then Facebook. Then things got really shitty, so I quit and joined BlueSky.
I felt horrible, like the smallest bit of the code, unrecognized, shouting into the void for robots and scammers. But it a good place, right? And then they banned trans people while bringing in the authoritarians.So, I thought all social media is bad, and I should try and get a website going where I could shout at the void on my own space.
I came across @_elena and started playing around with PeerTube. I saw @firesidefedi talking about exciting things, connecting with real people, and rebuilding that good time I used to have being online.
It was exciting, but I wasn't sure. And then @TIBtv came on, and I was blown away. My people! There they are!
I hope other people like me quit lurking quietly and join in. It's fantastic here on the #fediverse

it seems like this post I made in hackers pub still isn't getting any updates into piefed, but it does show updates on nodebb

Maybe that Mention trick you floated the other day... Just have every reply mention everyone in the conversation all of the time.

Potentially something like "follow a conversation" in the background could smooth out these rough edges.

@julian @hongminhee all these issues are showing the rough edges of the fediverse. if a post goes "goes" somewhere in the fediverse it should also be able to update and get mentions and all the other things one expects, if that doesn't work, then we have issues we need to figure out!
