Remote category does not federate and category rights

I've opened a new topic so that I don't overwhelm Kadir-Ay-0 topic with my problem.
When I enter the blog URL, the blog is now displayed as a remote category.
Problem 1: There are no permissions that can be assigned for this category. Is this correct? I actually don't want users to be able to start topics in this category.
Problem 2: NoteBB doesn't seem to be federating with the blog, even though the blog's federation is working and the blog posts federate with Mastodon without delay.

Are you following the blog from your NodeBB forum? You'll need at least one follower in order to receive content from the remote category.

Sky2023245 then I would next check to see whether you're able to pull in blog posts. You should be able to paste the URL into the search bar to pull it in.
Secondly, once you establish the follow connection it does not mean that you automatically receive all previously published posts. You will only automatically receive blog posts created after the follow.

It's odd that it stops after installing dependencies, it suggests that dependency installation failed somehow.

@zielony-xd@community.nodebb.org the email confirmation logic will probably unset any other users with that email.
You can set the email with setUserField, but it would not be confirmed.
It is likely just to prevent users sharing emails.
Perhaps you can try username+differentiator @example.com?

The setting itself pre-dates AP integration so that's why I am unsure.
How it works is, on the NodeBB side, when the picture is requested, you need to be logged in to be able to load it. This isn't restricted by category, but rather is site-wide.
This likely applies to federated content too. If the setting is enabled then the images will not be visible when federated out.
All bets are off with S3 plugin. Most likely it ignores this option, as the media has been uploaded to S3 it is outside of NodeBB's control and we cannot gate access.

@panos@community.nodebb.org my best guess is you wouldn't be able to guarantee restricted access to the files if you use the S3 bucket.
As far as I know that setting doesn't influence anything when using a third party file store.

Unfortunately, I think you have to turn off the bot challenge completely. CF puts up a javascript challenge that wget and curl cannot bypass.
