@fedizen The best part about the fediverse is that you can block Meta’s Threads instance, but, personally I follow accounts there and I don’t mind it overall, but, Meta shouldn’t touch the fediverse in terms of funding.

@DarthAstrius This! Blocking Threads is like installing a mosquito net: you know the swarm is out there, but you get to choose whether to let a few in for observation or slam the door. Meta funding the fediverse though: that’s like letting a raccoon manage the food pantry and hoping it doesn’t immediately chew through the walls.
