That's because there's no algorithm. Until you start following users you're not going to see any posts. Simple!
You get out what you put in. Nothing more. Nothing less. It's a great way to end doomscrolling.

Here we should also have a lot of rain, so I will most likely put my head into the italian textbook for a while (when nobody will be at the office) and in between the work, I will probably try to setup a FVWM desktop, edit a bit of my old config.

Good morning, #FediverseToday looks like it’s going to be an interesting day. It started off on the right foot, which hasn’t exactly been a given these past few months, and there’s even a bit of sunshine, though rain is expected later.
This morning I’ll be working on some interesting tasks, setting up two FreeBSD systems and speaking with a client about an interesting project based on OpenBSD. I’ll share more details once everything is clearly outlined.
In the afternoon I’ll meet with the insurance adjuster to figure out how to handle the whole #Crapturday situation. The floors are still bringing salt crystals back to the surface because of how long the “water” lingered, and the office is still almost unusable.
Hopefully everything will go smoothly.

Important note: #Mastodon is only as compelling as what you choose to follow. It rewards intention, curiosity, & care. Put in the effort to curate your feed, seek out voices that matter to you, & the platform opens up into a rich, thoughtful, genuinely engaging space.

@ricferrer @pfefferle contra point: I posted this article with a main photo https://lostfocus.de/2026/01/25/click/ - and it only shows up in Pixelfed because I do terrible things to my WordPress to still send `Note` objects instead of `Article` - it would be nice if the people who follow my blog on photo platforms can see my photos even when I stop messing with the post type

@ricferrer but that is not the point of the discussion! this is already a problem, because if you change the post type to `Note`, pixelfed will show it, even with the full text.
If spam or unrelevant images are the problem, than this can not (only) be fixed by blocking the `Article` type.
