The section about collections could use some additional information about what purpose they serve or how people use them; I only see the demo of how to set one up. Are these intended as like "starter kits" where following a collection automatically follows everyone in that collection, or is it distinct from your home feed?

I"d prefer to discuss fediverse politics rather than my expenses for several instances (Peertube, GoToSocial and yes,.Mastodon).

Can we do that, please?

If yes, I'd like to state that decentralized federation and moderation is an illusion with a massive million user instance hording a quarter of all fedizens and therefore is just too big to i.e. defederate for poor moderation.

There are plenty of possible incentives to encourage and motivate *migration* and limit centralization for the sake of a healthy and growing fediverse.

But as long as not even the by far biggest player in the game gives a fxxk and plays along by limiting itself the gravity of mastodon.social sucks in the spirit of federation like a massive black hole surrounded by small instances in the center of the fediverse.

With great power comes great responsibility.

I miss the latter.

Collections are in "Privacy and reach". You probably need to use the web interface until apps are updated.

@jannem I checked, there is no mention of "collections" in Privacy and Reach. (yes, I use it on the web).

The newsletter is announced in the blog post announcing 4.6.

No idea what would be going on. I check that we are on 4.6. I go to settings, privacy and reach, and the top checkbox option is "feature me in discovery experiences".

@jannem Oh, I found it. They said it was opt-in, so I was not looking at things that were already checked. It was already checked.
