@_elena @mjj I came here to say this, too! (As an English speaker from Ireland, that has a particular meaning - "a pile of" or "a lot" - such as, "I ate a HAPE of chips, and now I'm stuffed.")

*But* maybe if the logo is rotated slightly, it won't resemble a capital letter "A"?

I like it, but it depends on your audience and intent. If I didn't know the logo, I might think it was a gay thing, which it also works for(multipurpose?).

So... if you're advertising the fediverse to a general audience, it might silently fail. If you're making a cool thing for techies, it's pretty cool. I'd buy one.

Update: inspired by @thisislieven I tweaked the design and used an actual "O" behind the Fediverse symbol... So that people wouldn't confuse the word with "HAPE" or "HYPE".

I've ordered a tee in blue and another in red. I hope they turn out ok! 😅

That is interesting. At first I thought "well, that hexagon is clearly an 'O' character". But perhaps all letters from A - Z can be highlighted in its structure, and make a font.

@_elena Chiming in re the issue of people parsing the symbol as "A" or "Y" instead of "O":
Rotating it in a way that the darker colors are on top might help. Or brightening them. Or putting it in a circle.

The darker colors don't really pop against the dark background, leading to the difficulties in parsing it as a letter.
