Hello web designers and developers, I have a question for you.

Consider a common situation. You press Ctrl-F to search for a string in the current web page, the browser returns a few results but, when you step through them, some results are not highlighted and are apparently nowhere to be seen on the page, or at least on the portion in view.

Why this behavior? Are there technical obstacles to highlighting arbitrary text on a page and adjusting the viewport to bring that text into view?

Rupert Lane reconstructed the code of Joseph Weizenbaum's Online Programming Language (OPL).

Based on a printout of source code found among Weizenbaum's papers archived by MIT Libraries, I have reconstructed the language so it can live again for the first time in nearly sixty years on a IBM 7094 emulator running CTSS.

@vnikolov The trajectory of Artemis II is actually more similar to Apollo 13 as the spacecraft won't orbit the Moon.

@genericperson Not a Thelio, but Mint Cinnamon X11 works very well on my System76 Merkaat and handles all its hardware features, including power management. However, I found the hard way it's better not to install System76's hardware drivers and firmware updater as they may break APT package management.

@pfr If you are interested in Lisp I recommend learning it as a long term project. It's worth giving a good look to both Common Lisp and Scheme so that you can decide what you like.

As for where Lispers congregate, if you prefer forum platforms you may have a look at this new community:

Adam on why fiction books actually change how you see the world.

Once you become sensitive to how language softens reality, you start noticing it everywhere. Fiction develops that sensitivity without feeling like instruction.
