We're looking into getting a mailing list set up specifically for release updates and news for admins, which may serve this purpose better. Otherwise, at the moment keeping an eye on the releases on GitHub could be an option for you? There's an Atom feed for that. https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/releases.atom
