She's the fairy of spinning and weaving. She represents women's work and household contributions, and the King's intentional exclusion of this specific fairy symbolizes his attempts to strip Aurora of womanhood and how he attempts to elevate his child as being above having to work.The other fairies cannot remove Maleficent's curse because she was right to be angry. The king was in the wrong, and offended the fairies with his favoritism.
