@cwebber this is a bit of a theoretical question, but seeing that goblins has both a guile and racket implementation, how non trivial would it be to have a Clojure implementation?@aeva @valorzard Yes, it's possible, but nontrivial

You don't have to listen to me, but:Just a reminder that on the fediverse and on the ATmosphere to be careful about public comments that could be interpreted as a call to violence. You don't have to listen to me I'm not in charge of you, this is just a reminder about how this stuff works

Just a reminder that on the fediverse and on the ATmosphere to be careful about public comments that could be interpreted as a call to violence. Especially given recent events.
Particularly on ATProto, which is designed to be fully public and indexed and certainly is, but also on the fediverse, which is mostly public enough in general too.

An update of the port of Shepherd to Spritely Goblins!@civodul @dthompson Things are happening so fast that the test suite just went from 4 failing tests to 1 thanks to new fixes by juli! https://codeberg.org/spritely/shepherd/pulls/68

An update of the port of Shepherd to Spritely Goblins! It's so cool to see this hit this point! In 2024 at FOSDEM I gave a pitch: Spritely, Guile, and Guix, a unified vision for user security https://archive.fosdem.org/2024/schedule/event/fosdem-2024-2331-spritely-guile-guix-a-unified-vision-for-user-security/
Juli Sims began implementing Shepherd + Goblins https://spritely.institute/news/spritely-nlnet-grants-december-2023.html
Juli gave an update earler this year at FOSDEM: https://fosdem.org/2025/schedule/event/fosdem-2025-5315-shepherd-with-spritely-goblins-for-secure-system-layer-collaboration/
Which brings us back to this update today! https://spritely.institute/news/shepherd-goblins-update.html

Shepherd on Goblins RUNS! There's still some things to clean up but Juli Sims has been leading the effort with a lot of work also by David Thompson. There's examples of Goblins + Shepherd running a userspace Shepherd daemon... and even a demo of Goblins + Shepherd allowing for fleet orchestration!

I wrote in support of @thisismissem's letter saying that ATProto and ActivityPub ecosystems ought to engage kindly and constructively with each other.Note that it isn't that I am unwilling to critique ATProto. I have written the most cited critiques of ATProto on the internet.
Critique is good. And challenging each other is good.
But let's be constructive and kind.

I have explained my thinking more here: https://github.com/swicg/general/pull/45#issuecomment-3263275752
We face a lot of threats, especially ones greater than each other right now. We should challenge each other, but it is worth engaging so in a constructive way.
