Habemus Mini Cabin!This was a good choice for a place to stay. Holstebro is a lovely und relaxed city with a lot of shops, restaurants and a conveniently located railway station. 🥰 Better than staying in one of the totally deserted holiday villages at the coast.

I'm glad that I had the chance to visit this absolute gem, Denmark's last "true" old-school secondary line, twice before the modernisation to make my own memories from here.

And this translates directly to weight: A Mireo (93t) is about 50% heavier than a Lynette (63t). I really hope that they did consider, what that means in terms of permanent way maintenance on a light line like this. 😬

Impressive that a little railway with about 6 trains does the whole testing and builds the know-how for the whole industry and what will maybe become a nationwide programme. But also sensible, as this is an isolated line with track and train in one hand.

Seven of these angry birds..., no, wait, I mean: Siemens Mireo battery-electric units will take over the Holstebro-Skjern (65km) and Vemb-Thyborøn (55km) lines very soon. That will not only cascade the Lynettes out, but very probably also the Desiros.
