A request for reading recommendations! I still need more nature writing in my life, and you all came through when I asked months ago (I'm currently in the middle of one of those recommendations), so I'm asking again. Looking for nature writing with a focus on the writing itself, think more creative nonfiction less popular science, though there are plenty of gradations between the two that I'd still be happy to read. Looking for both specific essays and good places to read those kinds of essays (websites, newsletters, magazines), and books, with a preference for ones on the shorter side. My mother would like to join mastodon and I told her I'd ask for some server recommendations!She's into gardening, crafting, ecology, cats, and prepping (from a more leftist direction). She's COVID cautious, disabled, and not very good with tech. She's in Canada and it's important to her to be plugged into Canadian politics. Any suggestions of well-moderated places that might be a good home for her? :)

@idzie @Moss I think the marketing aspect of “tisane” in the English world is that it sounds more posh than “herbal tea”.It’s like restaurants who like to use French words to sound fancier like “au gratin” when they just add cheese to whatever 😄
