Austin's city council plays stupid games with its citizens. It's about a manipulative and cowardly way of dealing with your own residents. If you stand for it now, they've gotten away with it - and they'll do it again. The last time, almost 100 people showed up. You not only conducted yourselves excellently - you cleaned up OTHER PEOPLE'S TRASH. You bought & gave water to people who passed by & refused to accept money for it. You engaged civilly with people who disagreed. You were an example to be followed. Don't give in, give up, and avoid showing up because your city council is fucking with you. Rather, I make the argument that you have no choice BUT to show up. Anything else sends the message that this type of manipulative procedural bullying works, and will result in people not making their voices heard.
