The travel insurers will have extensive experience in arranging medical repatriation. They have contracts with companies which do nothing else.
Until the insurance company says 'no' then you should stop worrying and leave it to the experts.

My guess is that the consular will refer them back to their travel insurance company.
(They •do• have travel insurance don't they?) -

But cruise ship medical facilities are •extremely• expensive - they are really only for emergency situations and are considered to be a profit centre! -

Can their travel insurance help in this situation? -

Seat61.com hasn't got the answer, but will give you an idea of the complexity of the solution!I'd be looking at Freight ships that take passengers. ( One website is cargoshipvoyages.com but that's just from a random search)

The houses on her street - Essex /Herts borders - had a visit from a group of men 'suggesting' they put flags on their houses, which they'd supply flagpoles for at £150.
There were veiled threats to the neighbours who were reluctant ("nice car, shame if it got scratched" "nice dog, does he get ill?")
The street is pretty much all elderly people and they're frightened to report to the police in case of reprisals. Not the sort to have doorbell cameras.
I've suggested Crimestoppers as an anonymous route.I wonder how common this is across the country?
