Wait wait, this wasn't fiction? I thought it was beautiful and horrifying as (plausible) fiction, but I'm even more horrified to know it actually happened. I was already seething.

Honestly, not even an age thing with he-man. Just don't want to watch it at all regardless.
@csgraves I just wrote about this recently about how hero stories are often just supremacist wish fulfillment and believe in the myth of the *good king*, and a couple days ago I was reading Ursula K. Le Guin's *Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction* about the whole no heroes thing.

Why does anyone think we want more he-man and jared leto when we clearly want more queer she-ra?
I get patriarchy and all that, but also, if they want to make money, we've proven so many times that people don't want to see jared leto or prince adam, and we do want more gay, and I would have thought they wanted money more than jared leto, too.

Despite following almost 650 people over the last few years, my timeline feels increasingly empty and stale lately, a ghost town compared to a year ago or more, and I'm looking at refreshing things a bit. A lot of people have left the platform or are (understandably) afraid to post so much, especially due to the chilling effect of rising #fascism. But I'm still here, still posting. Still writing my #radical shit. Still trying to read and engage with others.
